Welcome to Moms Write Now, the writing group that helps you express more than just milk! We know that as a mom or maternal figure, finding time for yourself can be a challenge. That's why we're here to offer you a space where you can write right now, in the midst of your busy life. Come as you are, do what you can, and use the moments you have to take some time for yourself through writing. We can't wait to see what you create!
Are you a mom, aunt, stepmom, adoptive mom, grandmother, or any other maternal figure looking to connect with others and explore your experiences through writing? Then Moms Write Now is the perfect community for you.
Moms Write Now is an online writing group that provides a supportive space for moms and maternal figures to explore and express their experiences through writing. Our group is guided by the Amherst Writers & Artists (AWA) method, which believes that every person is a writer and every writer deserves a safe, supportive environment in which to experiment, learn, and develop craft. In our sessions, we use prompts that inspire creativity and help to unlock memories and emotions. Our focus is not on critique or correction, but on the power of writing to heal, transform, and connect. Whether you're an experienced writer or just starting out, Moms Write Now welcomes you to join us and discover the joy of writing with a supportive community.
Led by an experienced facilitator, this four-session writing group uses prompts that are tailored to the maternal experience, encouraging you to write from your personal experiences. Each session will include time for individual writing and opportunities to share and discuss your writing in a supportive environment.
Through this writing group, you will have the opportunity to:
No prior writing experience is necessary to participate in this group. All you need is a sense of curiosity and a willingness to explore your experiences...as a mom, but mainly as a human being living in this wild world.
So, put down the crayons and sippy cups for a moment - relax your shoulders, roll out your neck, take a big breath, and pick up a pen or keyboard - it's time to carve out some creative space for yourself through writing!
